Sorry, I’m kind of over the lectures about showing up.

He had a great crowd on night two, which turned out to be a loss to an opponent worse than any of the Pat era.

The team is consistently outrebounded, whether by Patriot League teams or Big East teams. This is not a legitimate Big East roster.

He’s wasted the goodwill he got from a very solid offseason press tour with this team. It might be year one for Ed Cooley but it’s now SEVENTEEN YEARS since this team made it to a Sweet Sixteen.

At a certain point, results matter and being lectured about showing up to see this team with bad habits and awful defense is condescending.

Coach Cooley's initial introductory press conference was legendary; if I was a potential enrolling in the program I would run through a brick wall for coach Cooley and his staff. Unfortunately this season will be a wash, filtering out the dead weight and coaching style that Ewing instituted. It has become a total embarrassment to the HOYA FAITHFUL that still live on the intimidating aggressive atmosphere that the Big fella John Thompson Jr. instilled in my desire to root for the HOYAS for life.

Mostly agree on much of what these comments say about where we are as a team and program. What always makes me laugh is that we all acknowledge what led up to where we are, but the harshest critics expect much better much sooner. Either you buy into the Build and Cooley's solid history of resurrecting programs -- and understand that it will require real patience because it will not be this year or next year but probably in his third year that we are a kick ass Hoya team and program again -- or you go believe your own invented narrative and beat your head against the wall in frustration and petty bitterness. It ain't happening this year. Cooley has said it all along. Be o.k. with it. Enjoy knowing a few years from now when we are winning more than losing that you were supporting the team back when they were crawling out of the ruins.

We are not good this year. Most of us accept that Cooley adopted a program smoldering in the ashes and had real disadvantages in recruiting. He patched together a roster -- and, yes, we can nitpick that he tried for players who were not going to come here (thinking Spencer and Dickinson) and that every move wasn't optimal -- but no one could have realistically expected him to stack the team with 3 & 4 stars this year. This is who we are. Something to build on? Yes. Something to add a very strong recruiting bunch next year? Absolutely.

I'm excited about the 24-25 possibilities and even more about 25-26. But I am getting to as many games now and enjoying a solid bunch of young men who are not everything we hoped for but who are putting on the Hoya jersey and playing hard every game (o.k., with a few lapses here & there -- it's to be expected, right?). We'll be crying for easy, cheap seats soon enough -- get to COA and enjoy yourself. GO HOYAS!

I have been a Hoya fan since 1972. I've seen the great, good, not good, and poor teams. This team is woefully undermanned. I don't really know what you expect this team to do. Cooley is practically starting from scratch; the cupboard was empty when he assumed control. Every player of significance came via the transfer portal. Help is on the way, but you have to be patient. After the starting five and possibly the first player off the bench, it would be hard for anyone else on this team to even make the roster of a Villanova, Marquette, Connecticut, or even Creighton.

The team is just bad! Defenisively and offensively. It seems like they have no inside game and cannot shoot from the outside. Most discouraging is the lack of real hustle or any sign of tenacious all out defense. Full court press on ocassion? One player last night seemed to either be out of energy or out of a will to play hard. Feet shuffling, shoulders dropped. I can look past being out played by a more talrented team in Cooley's first year but not out hustled. One positive...Brumbaugh looked good.! Odds this team will win more than two games in the Big East?
