All things Georgetown basketball, from the Hilltop to the hardwood.
While one door closes, another opens...
While 2020 has not been a smooth ride by any means for a lot of us, it’s also given many a chance at a fresh start, or a change of direction. For those that have followed myself or the Hoyas247 website for the past seven years, you are familiar with the kind of consistent, high-quality coverage that we provide about Georgetown men’s basketball. With 247Sports consolidating its coverage and eliminating my writing position at 247Sports, covering Georgetown basketball, this gave me an opportunity to step back and chart a new course in my time covering Georgetown men’s basketball.
So, without further ado, I present my new blog/newsletter, Hilltop Hoops.
Covering Georgetown basketball is something I have loved since the day I started covering the team for The Hoya back when I was a freshman at Georgetown in 2014. I’m excited to continue covering Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas moving forward, albeit with a new home address, over on Substack.
Why Substack? Well, I wanted something simple and easy to be able to post my content on. I cover Georgetown men’s basketball out of my love for the team, my love for the school, and my love for basketball. What this also means is that this is not my full-time job. I don’t earn money writing about Georgetown basketball. I have a regular full-time job in Washington, D.C., and it can get difficult at times juggling my coverage of the Hoyas with work, in addition to two other writing gigs I have, covering the New England Patriots.
My intent in hosting my content on Substack now is to provide at least two newsletters a week to my subscribers, as my schedule allows. You can still find all of my content online in non-newsletter form, at hilltophoops.substack.com, if you want to go that route.
Signing up for the newsletter is free, and would mean the world to have the continued support of my readers as I migrate host sites for my articles.
Moving forward, I intend for all of my content to be free to subscribers. Budgets are tight during this COVID-19 pandemic and just having you all reading my work in the first place means a lot to me.
Sign up now so you don’t miss the first issue!
In the meantime, tell your friends!
